Long Island?
Jen and I decided on a date to try our luck in Long Island. Though I had done this before and had come up sadly almost empty handed, I thought I'd give LI a second chance. The morning of our trip I opened the window to a snow storm - Despite the weather I picked up Jen and we headed out. The snow storm should have been my first clue that it was going to be a questionable day, but ten minutes into our drive we heard a song being sung through a loud speaker. Confused I looked around and spotted a hot guy in a corrections van driving side by side with us. He was singing a Christmas song in a thick Long Island accent. He then dedicated the song to us and slowed down enough so we could snap this picture of him. It totally brought our spirits up. We pretty much spent the day dealing with surly store clerks and trying not to smash into other cars on the slippery roads. Our tides turned on our last stop when we found the sickest stash of snakeskin shoes - so sick my heart stopped for a minute. We proceeded to fill our cart with amazing shoes and boots. I then got in a verbal fight with a store clerk that didn't want to open the jewelry case. I won and got these gorgeous earrings and owl ring. Despite everything LI threw at us we managed to score big time so LI might have beat me last time, but this time we came out on top.

A Great Vintage for Vintage and Wanderings
For everyone who's been wondering why we call ourselves, Wanderlust Vintage...
In just about any English dictionary, wanderlust is a strong desire to travel and explore the world. It comes from an old German word and I get what those old Germans were talking about -- an ache for distance, a longing for the road, just like Zarie and I have. I don't know if the attraction is the change of scenery, the strangers you find, the promise of adventure, the sunshine and snow, the risk of getting lost or losing yourself, the distance giving you a better view of home, or just the forward motion, but this desire isn't just strong, it's irresistible. It's what makes traveling in search of vintage clothes a labor of love; as much a pleasure for us, as for anyone who scores at our shop.
Now, the word vintage comes to us from the vine, the vintner, and eventually, wine! Interesting trivia for us lushes, I know, but beyond that, whether we're talking wine or fashion, vintage refers to the year when a thing of high quality was made.
Well, I have a good feeling this is gonna be a great year: a great vintage for vintage and wanderings.
So Zarie, you drive...Rosie, you can pass out in the back seat to recover from last night...I'll ride shotgun, with my feet up on the dashboard and we'll go...
